ABOUT GROAT BROTHERS

About Us

The Groat family, longtime residents of the Ridgefield, Washington area, have always been active members of the community. Woodland has a Planters Day Parade held in June that we participate in.

In October of 1966, Lowell and Donald Groat started Groat Brothers, Inc. Utilized their knowledge of the area, skills, and experience in the trucking industry, they built a thriving general contracting business.

Groat Brothers, Inc., continues to be a family-operated business. Three generations are now sharing the workload. Although, you shouldn't be surprised if Lowell shows up as your delivery driver.

Fifty Years Serving Our Community

Groat Bros, family-owned since 1966, originally a trucking transportation company also works on municipal type projects of demolition services in the PNW.

Located in Woodland, WA, and open to the public we additionally have a retail yard with landscaping products and materials.

Groat Brothers Inc Lowell Groat

Lowell Groat

CEO

Born in 1937, Vancouver, WA and married to the love of my life: Netta Snead since 1956. She is the mother to my three children who we have raised in SW Washington. I am lovingly known as Poppa to my seven grandchildren and my great grandson. For over 30 years I was a volunteer firefighter for Clark District-12 and was commissioner the district for 25 of them. My church is very dear to me, and I remain an involved member. I love collector trucks, Saint Bernards and keeping busy.

Groat Brothers Inc has always been about family but most important hard work. Established in 1966, my brother and I hauled heavy equipment and big rigs. I now proudly share operations with my children. But my heyday is still running its course! You can still find me making local deliveries in my dump truck or in my office listening to radio.

I was a volunteer firefighter for Clark District-12 for 26 years; twelve of which as fire commissioner. For five years I was involved with the Clark College Diesel Advisor program. I remain an active member in my local community church.

Since 1982, I have overseen business operations. I bought my first dump truck in 1978 and found my calling in the industry. I have supervised and completed public works projects both large and small.
